Responsibilities
The Town Attorney is the legal advisor to the Town Council, the Town Manager, Telluride Housing Authority, officials, boards and commissions in matters relating to their official powers, rights, duties and liabilities. The Town Attorney is appointed by the Town Council and serves at its pleasure.
Questions about Town ordinances should be directed to the department that administers the specific ordinances. If the department has questions about how an ordinance applies in a particular situation, the Town Attorney will provide legal advice to the staff. The Town Attorney cannot give legal advice to citizens concerning private legal disputes.
