Written requests should include the following:

  1.  A statement that the letter is a request under the Colorado Open Records Act.

Note: Please visit the Marshal's Department at 160 South Fir to request records maintained by that department.

How long will it take to obtain the records?
Records not exempt from disclosure will be made promptly available. Within three days of receiving a written request for records, staff will determine whether the request, in whole or in part, seeks copies of disclosable records and will promptly notify the applicant of its determination and the reasons therefor. In extenuating circumstances [see CRS § 24-72-203(3)(b)], it may take longer.

How much does it cost for a record?

Please click on the "Fees" link in the left column of this page.

Can I just review the records if necessary?

Except with respect to public records exempt from disclosure by express provision of law, any person may request to either inspect or to receive a copy of a public record.  Access is allowed during normal business hours, which are Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
