Yes. The Town of Telluride regulates signage through a review process. It is a violation to erect signage without an issuance of a Certificate of Appropriateness. Pursuant to the Telluride Land Use Code, an application must be processed by the town for all Insubstantial Activity which includes the installation of a sign on any building which is not a historic landmark structure, or for any Minor Activity which includes the installation of a sign on a historic landmark structure. This will vary depending upon the scale of the proposed project, whether or not zoning regulations have been met within the proposal, if variances are required and/or requested, the responsiveness to requests and conditions as outlined by staff and HARC throughout the process, the volume of project continuances from prior Development Review Hearings, and the volume of development activity submitted to Town Planning.
