Features of Town Park
You may check out equipment from us to use in the park in the summer time. We do require a valid driver's license be left with us as collateral until the item is returned.
- Swimming Pool-The Telluride Community Pool is an outdoor facility located in Town Park.
- Kid's Fishing Pond - There is a four trout limit. Fishing rods may be checked out for no charge at the Information Center in Town Park. Children must be 12 or under to fish in the pond.
- Imagination Station Playground - Located between home plate of Bear Creek Field and the new Hanley Rink Pavilion, the Imagination Station is open year round. Bring your kids to the Park for hours of fun at this "community built" playground.
- Horse shoes - There are two horse shoe pits are located near the swimming pool and tennis courts in Town Park. These courts are free and are available on a first come, first serve basis with a one-hour courtesy rule.
- Tennis courts - There are two tennis courts located in Town Park. Our tennis courts were resurfaced with a cushioned "Premier Court" in 2009. Located near the swimming pool in Town Park.
- Basketball courts - There is an outdoor basketball court located in the center of Town Park. There are no leagues scheduled. You can check out a basketball at the Parks and Recreation Office in Town Park.
- Disc Golf - There is a 9-hole disc golf course in Town Park.
- Sand volleyball - Two outdoor, sand volleyball courts are located in Town Park near the tennis courts. Open play and pick-up games occur throughout the summer. The best time to find other players on the court is on weekday evenings around 6:00 pm.
- Skateboarding and trick biking - Come check out our Skate Park designed by Grindline. This skateboard and trick bike facility is open daily.
- Bicycle pump track - Open Daily
- Sledding hill - The sledding hill is located on the southern side of Town Park on Firecracker Hill. Please follow posted maps that mark the walking path to the sledding hill. Bring your own sleds or rent one from the Nordic Center. There is usually enough snow around Thanksgiving for sledding.
- Telluride Nordic Center -The winter phone number for the Nordic Center is (970) 728-1144. The Nordic Center offers youth and adult cross country ski lessons, cross country skate and classic ski rentals, ice skate rentals, ice skate sharpening and rental sleds for the sledding hill. Hours are 10:00 am to 4:00 pm daily.
