Noise Variance Issued for Paving Operations on Pacific and Colorado
Weather delays and future forecast call for additional milling and paving hours to avoid extended road closures
(May 12, 2023) – Telluride, CO --- Public Works Director Kyle Beck has issued a noise variance for the paving contractor to resume milling and paving operations on Colorado and Pacific at 7 am MST on Friday, May 12. The project will continue after hours until completion after being delayed yesterday due to weather conditions and precipitation.
"An early start and extended hours today will help us avoid extended closures on Pacific Avenue," said Director Beck. "If paving doesn't wrap up on schedule, we could find ourselves further delayed with the rain in the forecast next week. We hope to have the majority of the sections that are milled, paved back, and reopened today to traffic and parking access."
Traffic control will continue to mitigate routes across Colorado and Pacific during operations for access to the Telluride Regional Medical Center, Gondola Plaza, and various residential areas. The Town continues to advise residents to access the Post Office from Colorado Avenue via South Willow Street.
