Mayoral Race Too Close to Call, Ashley Story and Elena Levin to serve on Telluride Town Council

Mayoral Race Too Close to Call, Ashley Story and Elena Levin to serve on Telluride Town Council

A final scan of ballots will take place on Thursday, November 16 to confirm the official results

(November 8, 2023) – Telluride, CO --- On Tuesday, November 7, 2023, candidates Ashley Story and Elena Levin were elected to Telluride Town Council, each for four-year terms. According to the San Miguel County Clerk and Recorders Office, with 1,106 ballots counted, the Mayoral race is too close to call. As it stands, Teddy Errico leads with 491 votes, with J Meehan Fee closely trailing with 484 votes. 

With a handful of ballots outstanding for signature verification, the final scan of ballots will take place on Thursday, November 16. Final official results are expected to be announced thereafter.

The preliminary Mayoral election results are as follows in the order listed on the ballot: 

  • Jessie Rae Arguelles: 131
  • Teddy Errico: 491
  • J. Meehan Fee: 484 

The preliminary Town Council election results are as follows in the order listed on the ballot: 

  • Ashley Story: 420
  • Lee Shea Betten: 355
  • Jenny Carlson: 305
  • Marya Stark: 259
  • Jonathan Yaseen: 176
  • Elena Levin: 409

The newly elected officials will join council members Jessie Rae Arguelles, Dan Enright, and Geneva Shaunette. Based on the final election results, Meehan Fee will remain on Town Council as either Mayor or Councilperson. Once confirmed, the newly elected Mayor and members of Town Council will be sworn in on Tuesday, November 28, at the regular meeting of Telluride Town Council. Council members will also appoint a new Mayor Pro Tem at the November 28 meeting.

(8 de noviembre de 2023) – Telluride, CO --- El martes 7 de noviembre de 2023, las candidatas Ashley Story y Elena Levin fueron elegidas para el Concejo Municipal de Telluride, cada una por períodos de cuatro años. Según la Oficina del Secretario y Registradores del Condado de San Miguel, con 1,106 boletas contadas, la carrera por la alcaldía está demasiado reñida para ser convocada. Tal como están las cosas, Teddy Errico lidera con 491 votos, seguido de cerca por J Meehan Fee con 484 votos.
