CDOT performs shoulder work on CO 145

Motorists should plan for brief delays next week between Telluride and Norwood

(November 17, 2023) - San Miguel County --- Next week, the Colorado Department of Transportation will complete a two-day erosion control operation along the shoulder of Colorado Highway 145, 2-miles east of Norwood. Operations will take place Tuesday and Wednesday between Mile Points 97 and 99. Motorists should plan for 10-15 minute delays, flaggers, and one-lane alternating traffic between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m each day.

Crews will work swiftly to stabilize the shoulder of the highway; however, work is weather permitting.

Traffic Impacts

Daytime work hours range from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday.

  • Motorists should plan for 10-15 minute delays and should allow for extra travel time.
  • Expect one-lane alternating traffic guided by signs, cones and flagging personnel.
  • Drivers should slow down and use extreme caution when approaching and driving through the work zone.
  • A speed reduction of 40 mph will be enforced through the work zones.
