Telluride Marshal’s Department Staff Honored with Prestigious Awards for Exceptional Service

Chief’s Commendation, Distinguished Service, Life Saving awards honor staff and community partner recipients

(November 20, 2023) – Telluride, CO --- The Telluride Marshal’s Department held an award ceremony last week with the Mountain Village Police Department to honor and recognize their service men and women and their community partners for their outstanding service and commitment to public safety. These esteemed awards emphasize the department’s commitment to excellence and highlight the exceptional work of the Telluride Marshal’s Department staff.

The Chief's Commendation is awarded at the discretion of the Chief of Police to a member deserving special recognition for services rendered to the department. The Police Life Saving Medal is an award for bravery, usually awarded to officers for acting to rescue or attempt to rescue either a fellow officer or any person from imminent danger. The Police Distinguished Service Medal is the department’s second-highest award for service and may be awarded to employees who distinguish themselves by performing exceptional service in a duty of great responsibility or of critical importance to law enforcement.
