Town of Telluride to Host a Collective Envisioning Workshop

Input will help shape the Town’s five-year action plan to address justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion

(January 9, 2024) – Telluride, CO --- The Town of Telluride will host a bilingual community workshop to gather valuable feedback from residents to enhance and improve local services. The workshop will provide an open forum for community members to learn about the services provided by the Town, express their personal needs, and contribute ideas on how services can be enhanced or expanded to better meet the diverse needs of Telluride residents.

The Collective Envisioning workshop will take place on Monday, February 5, from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Wilkinson Public Library Program Room. The workshop will consist of a speed dating style exercise in which groups will rotate between Town department presentations with Spanish interpreters present at each table. Participants will learn more about the services provided and have an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback at each station. The departments present will include the Manager’s Office, Parks & Recreation, Telluride Marshals, Public Works, Building & Planning, and Community Services. 

"We value the input of our community members, and this initial workshop is an essential step in ensuring that our services are responsive to the needs and priorities of Telluride residents,” said Deputy Town Manager Zoe Dohnal. “Your perspectives will help shape the future of our town and guide us in making informed decisions that benefit our community as a whole." 

The workshop is part of the Town's ongoing commitment to engaging with all members of the community to help shape the Town’s five-year action plan to address justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring that all services align with the evolving needs of residents. This plan will act as a guiding document for the Town's commitment to embedding anti-racist principles and practices of JEDI in its organization and achieving the objectives set by the council.

Collective Envisioning workshops are expected to take place twice yearly and intend to continue the Town’s work towards improving services, addressing resident needs, and exploring opportunities for new or expanded services. 

The Town of Telluride encourages all residents to participate in this collaborative effort to cultivate the future of local services. Community feedback is crucial in ensuring that the Town remains a vibrant and responsive community that reflects the values and aspirations of its residents. La ciudad de Telluride organiza un taller de visión colectiva

Las aportaciones ayudarán a configurar el plan de acción quinquenal de la ciudad para abordar la justicia, la equidad, la diversidad y la inclusion

(9 de enero de 2024) - Telluride, CO --- La cuidad de Telluride acogerá un taller comunitario bilingüe para recabar la valiosa opinión de los residentes con el fin de mejorar los servicios locales. El taller proporcionará un foro abierto para los miembros de la comunidad para aprender acerca de los propocionados por la Ciudad, expresar sus necesidades personales, y aportar ideas sobre cómo los servicios pueden ser mejorados o ampliados para satisfacer mejor las diversas necesidades de los residentes de Telluride.

El taller de Visión Colectiva se llevará a cabo el lunes 5 de febrero de 4 pm a 6 pm en la Sala de Programas de la Biblioteca Pública de Wilkinson. El taller consistirá en un ejercicio de estilo de citas rápidas en el que los grupos irán rotando entre las presentaciones de los departamentos de la ciudad con intérpretes de español presentes en cada mesa. Los participantes aprenderán más acerca de los servicios prestados y tendrán la oportunidad de hacer preguntas y dar su opinión en cada estación. Los departamentos presentes incluirán la Oficina del Gerente, Parques y Recreación, Alguaciles de Telluride, Obras Públicas, Construcción y Planificación, y Servicios Comunitarios.

"Valoramos los comentarios de los miembros de nuestra comunidad, y este taller inicial es un paso esencial para y este taller inicial es un paso esencial para asegurar que nuestros servicios respondan a las necesidades y prioridades de los residentes de Telluride," dijo la subdirectora municipal Zoe Dohnal. El taller forma parte del compromiso continuo de la ciudad de involucrarse con todos los miembros de la comunidad para ayudar a conformar el plan de acción quinquenal de la ciudad para abordar la justicia, la equidad, la diversidad y la inclusión, asgurando que todos los servicios se ajusten a las necesidades cambiantes de los residentes. Este plan servirá de documento rector para el compromiso de la ciudad de integrar los principios y prácticas antirracistas de la justicia, equidad, diversidad y inclusion en su organización y lograr los objetivos establecidos por el consejo.

Se espera que los talleres de Visión Colectiva se lleven a cabo dos veces al año y y tienen la intención de continuar el trabajo de la Ciudad para mejorar los servicios, atender las necesidades de los residentes y explorar oportunidades de servicios nuevos o ampliados. 

La ciudad de Telluride anima a todos los residentes a participar en este esfuerzo de colaboración para cultivar el futuro de los servicios locales. La opinión de la comunidad es crucial para asegurar que la ciudad siga siendo una comunidad vibrante y receptiva que refleje los valores y aspiraciones de sus residentes.
