Marshal’s Department Seeking Information Related to Report of Unlawful Sexual Contact
(July 30, 2024) – Telluride, CO --- The Telluride Marshal’s Department is actively investigating a report of unlawful sexual contact that occurred near the intersection of West Colorado Avenue and South Davis Street on Monday, July 22, around 10:00 pm MT. The Marshal’s Department responded promptly to the victim’s location to gather additional information and search the area for the described suspect. At this time, the suspect has not been identified.
“All acts of sexual violence are unacceptable and have no place in our community,” said Chief Josh Comte. “As with any active investigation, the Telluride Marshals Department is proceeding with the utmost care, investigating all leads. We also want to remind everyone of the important steps to take to protect yourself and others. Be aware of your surroundings, trust your instincts, and check in with family and friends. Whenever possible, stick to well-lit areas and avoid walking alone at night.”
The Telluride Marshal’s Department is closely pursuing any and all leads as this open and ongoing investigation continues. Members of the public are encouraged to come forward with any details surrounding this incident, including, but not limited to, eye-witness accounts or household camera footage.
