Telluride Town Council Announces Four Finalists for the Role of Town Manager 

Public reception to be held on Tuesday, August 13, final interviews on Wednesday, August 14

(July 30, 2024) – Telluride, CO --- The Telluride Town Council has narrowed their search for a new Town Manager to four finalists. Listed alphabetically by last name, the finalists are: 

Chris Castilian

Mr. Castilian is a resident of Denver, Colorado, and currently serves as a senior executive director and faculty member at the University of Denver. Mr. Castilian has over 25 years of experience leading public, private, and nonprofit organizations, as well as project management, strategic planning, and staff development, with a background in policy advancement and building successful teams. Mr. Castilian holds a B.A. in Political Science from California Lutheran University, a J.D. from the University of Denver, and a certificate of Senior Executives in State and Local Government from Harvard University.

Silas Clarke

Mr. Clarke is a resident of Ouray, Colorado, and serves as the Ouray City Administrator. Mr. Clarke is a seasoned city administrator with extensive experience in budgeting, financial management, large-scale project management, and community relations, currently overseeing 106 employees and a $38.3 million budget. Mr. Silas holds a B.S. in Political Science and an M.A. in Public Administration with a specialization in Local Government, both from the University of Nebraska.

Zoe Dohnal

Ms. Dohnal is a resident of Telluride, Colorado, with extensive experience in municipal governance, currently serving as Acting Town Manager for the Town of Telluride. Having joined the Town as Deputy Town Manager in November 2022, she leads strategic planning, project management, and community engagement efforts, building on her previous role as Director of Operations and Development in Mountain Village. Ms. Dohnal holds a B.A. in Economics and Marketing from Butler University and an M.A. in Public Administration from the University of Colorado Denver.  

Craig Howard

Mr. Howard is currently a resident of Rockville, Maryland, serving as the Deputy Director of the Montgomery County Council, overseeing significant budget and policy areas. With 21 years of experience working for the County Council, Craig Howard is an accomplished government professional with experience in leadership, budget management, policy analysis, and program evaluation. Mr. Howard holds a B.S. with Distinction in Environmental Policy and Behaviors from the University of Michigan and an M.A. in Public Administration from Syracuse University. 

 All finalists will visit Telluride on Tuesday, August 13 and Wednesday, August 14, 2024. On Tuesday August 13th, finalists will tour Telluride and its facilities, interact with all Town department heads, and participate in a reception open to the public. The public reception will be held at Sheridan SHOW Bar on Tuesday, August 13, from 5 to 6 pm. Town Council will interview each finalist on Wednesday, August 14 in Executive Session.

El Ayuntamiento de Telluride anuncia cuatro finalistas para el puesto de Administrador Municipal

La recepción pública se celebrará el martes 13 de agosto, las entrevistas finales el miércoles 14 de agosto

(30 de julio de 2024) - Telluride, CO --- El Ayuntamiento de Telluride ha reducido su búsqueda de un nuevo Gerente de la Ciudad a cuatro finalistas. Ordenados alfabéticamente por apellido, los finalistas son: 

Chris Castilian

El Sr. Castilian es residente en Denver, Colorado, y actualmente es director ejecutivo y miembro del profesorado de la Universidad de Denver. El Sr. Castilian tiene más de 25 años de experiencia en la dirección de organizaciones públicas, privadas y sin ánimo de lucro, así como en gestión de proyectos, planificación estratégica y desarrollo de personal, con experiencia en promoción de políticas y creación de equipos de éxito. El Sr. Castilian es licenciado en Ciencias Políticas por la Universidad Luterana de California, doctor en Derecho por la Universidad de Denver y posee un certificado de Altos Ejecutivos en la Administración Estatal y Local por la Universidad de Harvard.

Howard es licenciado con distinción en Política y Comportamientos Medioambientales por la Universidad de Michigan y posee un máster en Administración Pública por la Universidad de Siracusa. 

Todos los finalistas visitarán Telluride el martes 13 de agosto y el miércoles 14 de agosto de 2024. El martes 13 de agosto, los finalistas visitarán Telluride y sus instalaciones, interactuarán con todos los jefes de departamento de la ciudad y participarán en una recepción abierta al público. La recepción pública se celebrará en el Sheridan SHOW Bar el martes 13 de agosto de 17:00 a 18:00 horas. El Consejo Municipal entrevistará a cada finalista el miércoles 14 de agosto en sesión ejecutiva.
