Open Records Request

The Town of Telluride is committed to transparency and open government. All Open Records requests, pursuant to the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA),  must be in writing to ensure an orderly and efficient process for public records requests. Unless circumstances make it impractical, all requests made under CORA shall be made in writing to the Town Clerk via the  online Records Request Form

The Town will comply with the provisions of CORA when responding to a properly submitted records request. The Town shall respond to a request within three (3) business days after the request was received, not including the date of receipt. The response period may be extended for no more than seven (7) additional business days if extenuating circumstances exist per Colorado Revised Statutes 24-72-203(3)(b). A deposit for the estimated time to fill the request may be required.

A substantial number of the Town's public records are available free of charge through the Electronic Records Portal. Records are searchable using the "search" field located in the upper left-hand corner of the portal.
