Historic Preservation
The Historic Preservation Department encourages the protection of historic resources in the Town of Telluride. In 1961, Telluride was officially designated as a National Historic Landmark District, illustrating the history of the United States, in particular, the mining boom era from 1878-1913. The Historic Preservation Department uses a variety of tools to conduct comprehensive design review for the benefits of preservation.
