Court Standards

Court Appearance Guidelines

To help things run smoothly, please follow these standards when appearing in Municipal Court:

Arrive on Time
Give yourself plenty of time for parking, traffic, and going through security. If you miss your scheduled court appearance, a warrant may be issued for your arrest.

Phones and Devices
All cell phones and pagers must be turned off or set to silent/vibrate while in the courtroom. If not, you may be asked to leave.

Weapons Prohibited
Firearms and other dangerous weapons are not allowed in any San Miguel County facility, per County Resolution No. 1997-35.

Security Screening
Everyone entering the Municipal Court, County Building, or court-related offices is subject to a search of their person and belongings. By entering, you consent to this search.

  • No reading materials such as books or newspapers are allowed.

  • Please do not bring small children unless absolutely necessary. If you do, make sure they stay quiet—otherwise, you may be asked to leave.
