Medical & Retail Marijuana Licenses
The Town of Telluride adopted rules and standards for licensing medical marijuana centers, retail marijuana stores, infused products manufacturing, and off-site cultivation. Rules and regulations are codified in the Telluride Municipal Code.
A retail marijuana establishment may not operate in the Town of Telluride until it is licensed by the state licensing authority AND approved by the Telluride Marijuana Licensing Authority.
It is unlawful to operate the following marijuana enterprises in the Town of Telluride: Cultivation Facilities (but not cultivation operations), to manufacture hash oil anywhere within Town of Telluride; to operate a Retail Marijuana Products Manufacturing Facility producing Solvent-Based Retail Marijuana Concentrate, by use of Solvents containing compressed flammable gases, Marijuana Private Clubs (in any form) or Marijuana Product vending machines.

New Establishments
If you are interested in opening a medical marijuana center or a retail marijuana store in the Town of Telluride, please submit an application, required fee, and individual history form to the Town Clerk. Please see the individual history form for submittal requirements.

Renewal Application for a Marijuana Establishment Already Licensed in the Town of Telluride
A renewal application and individual histories for each employee must be submitted to the Town Clerk at least forty-five (45) days before and no more than ninety (90) days before the expiration of the License.
If a licensee fails to apply for renewal of the License at least forty-five (45) days before the expiration of the License, the License shall expire.

Major Change to an Existing Marijuana Center or Store
No Licensee shall make any significant changes without first obtaining the written approval of the Town of Telluride Licensing Authority.
A Major Change Application is required for any of the following changes:
- Any transfer of the license or any ownership interest in the licensee entity or license.
- Any change in the location of the licensed premises.
- Any change in the licensee's principles.
- The hiring, substitution, resignation, replacement, or termination of the registered manager.
- Any change in ownership of any of the stock of the licensee corporation.
- Any change in the structure, walls, doors, windows, ventilation, plumbing, electrical supply, floor plan, footprint, elevation, operation, operational plan, patios, decks, safe or vault, locks, surveillance system, doors, window coverings, or security system.
- Any material change to the adjacent grounds, including but not limited to lighting, parking, traffic flow through, and the adjacent grounds surfaces, landscaping, fences, speakers, or sound.
- Any material change in or deviation from the operational plan submitted at the time the license was approved.

- Modification of Premise - $400.00
- Change of Principals or Ownership - $300.00
