Home Rule

The Town of Telluride is a home rule municipality. The Mayor and six council members are elected for four-year terms. The Mayor and Town Council members do not have offices at Town Hall.

The Town Council  2021 Meeting Calendar is set at the end of the year for the next calendar year. Meetings are held approximately every third Tuesday at Rebekah Hall, 113 West Columbia Avenue.

Due to the COVID-19  Pandemic, Town Council meetings will be held virtually until further notice. Information on how to join the meeting can be found at the top of each meeting agenda under "Meeting Information." Agendas are found through our Meeting Portal.

Notice Is Hereby Given That The Telluride Town Council, At A Regular Meeting On August 3, 2021 At Approximately 1:00pm, Via A Virtual Meeting, Will Consider Second Reading And Approval Of An Ordinance Of The Town Council Of The Town Of Telluride, Colorado Submitting Proposed Home Rule Charter Amendments To A Vote Of The Registered Electors At The November 2, 2021 Election Concerning Municipal Election Matters, Including Elector Qualifications And Voter Registration, To Move Procedural Sections Related To Initiatives And Referendums To The Telluride Municipal Code, To Remove A Cap Of Non-Qualified Electors Allowed To Serve On Boards And Commissions, To Clarify Sections Related To Recalls, Absentee Ballots, Notifications For Special Town Council Meetings, Town Council Voting Requirements, Town Council Qualifications, Miscellaneous Legal Provisions, And Additional Insubstantial Cleanup Provisions, And Direct The Town Clerk To Publish The Ordinance In Accordance With The Colorado State Statutes And The Colorado Constitution Requirements For Charter Amendments.
