  • Officers can be reached anytime by calling the Montrose Dispatch Center. The Dispatch non-emergency number is (970) 249-9110. If you have an emergency, always call 9-1-1. The Marshal's Department is open for routine business between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, holidays excluded. We are located at 134 South Spruce Street.

  • Any incidents occurring within the Telluride town limits are reported to the Telluride Marshal's Department. Telluride's jurisdiction includes the town, the road to the Idarado mine and the highway between the town and the Society Turn Roundabout, three miles west of Telluride, including the Valley Floor. Any incidents occurring at the Texaco, Brown Homestead, HIllside or Eider Creek are reported to the San Miguel Sheriff's Office at 970-728-1911. Incidents occurring in the Town of Mt. Village are reported to the Mt. Village Police Department at (970) 728-9281.

  • The Town of Telluride's Maintenance Department requests the majority of tows in the town in order to maintain public streets and parking lots. If your car was towed, it is necessary to come into the Marshal's Department at 134 South Spruce Street in order to obtain a copy of the tow form. This sheet must be provided to the tow company in order to retrieve your vehicle. If there are expired plates, no insurance or unpaid parking tickets associated with your vehicle, you will be required to attend to the matter prior to your vehicle being released. Payment for the tow fee is made directly to the tow company. More information on towing may be found under the Marshal's Department parking page on this site.

  • If you need a vehicle towed from your private property, contact a local tow service. The Marshal's Department will not tow vehicles from private property. If your vehicle was towed from private property, contact that property owner to see which tow company they used to tow your vehicle

  • All concealed weapon permits in the county are issued by the San Miguel Sheriff's Department.

  • If you suspect a neighbor is involved in illegal activity, (domestic violence, child abuse, drug use, etc.) we ask that you report this even if you don't want to become involved. Please call 9-1-1 if the incident is in progress. The 9-1-1 center will have access to your phone number and address if you call them, however you can ask to remain anonymous and not leave your name.

  • Unfortunately, there is no Colorado Department of Revenue (DOR) office in Telluride or San Miguel County. The nearest Colorado driver's license offices are located in Montrose or Cortez. The Montrose DOR phone number is (970)-249-5426. The Cortez DOR phone number is (970)-565-9779.
